WHERE ARE WE? Empuriabrava is in Catalunya, Spain, on the Mediterranean coast with the Pyrenees Mountains forming a spectacular backdrop. It is centrally located in the bay of Roses, with France just 15 miles to the north and the lovely city of Girona 20 miles to the south; Barcelona is a further hour. We are right in Dalí country, with his museum and home close by; Girona, France & Barcelona are good day trips, as are the mountains with their great views and cosy villages. You can drive along the coast road and lose your breath with the views, stop for lunch in one of the many beautiful bays, or catch a boat to the Medes island nature reserve where you can swim with the fish or simply feed them out of your hand. History abounds…the Greeks and Romans first set foot in Spain here in the bay over 2000 years ago, and you can visit the massive citadel at roses or the Greek/Roman village at Escala where the harbour walls still jut out proudly into the Med. One or two weeks are not time enough to see or do half of what is possible here. Empuriabrava offers many excellent restaurants and bars from high class cuisine to tapas bars. Night clubs are based out of town and the town tends to cater for families and couples- it is clean and safe for children with the amusements along the seafront open till late. ![]() ![]() ![]()
